Harvest Time!

Hello September! Wow! This summer has been a season of great abundance! My garden has really showed out this year! I have been amazed by all the produce she has provided! We have enjoyed so much and also given so much to others. However, I am not alone. I have spoken with many gardeners who have reported a record-breaking year!

With the arrival of September comes transitions. The Autumn Equinox arrives on Saturday, September 23rd. The days will start becoming shorter and cooler. To be completely honest, I love the autumn season! Specifically, the crisp and clear air, the fall foliage, and don't forget fresh local apples! After all, I do live in an area loaded with apple orchards! Sometimes we fill our summers with so many activities and events that autumn is a much needed time for rest, reflection, and mulled apple cider!

Once again, thank you so much for being a part of my passion project, my blog!

See you in October!

What's Growing in My Garden, You Ask???

The Kijari Melon, pictured to the left, is my absolute favorite melon to grow in the garden. This heirloom variety originates in India and weights 2-3 pounds. They are perfect for growing on a trellis, taste similar to a honeydew, and are absolutely beautiful with their bright orange and green colors. In addition, they are incredibly fragrant in a garden space and remind me of small beach balls! How FUN!! Learn more about garden at the link below.
