Toss in some fresh or frozen, juicy fruit like strawberries, blueberries, or banana slices. They add a burst of sweetness that makes your taste buds do a little dance. This breakfast isn’t just yummy; it’s also excellent for you. It’s like starting your day with a delicious and nutritious high-five!

My Go-To Ingredients
- I like to buy a large container of plain yogurt. For example, Greek dairy yogurt, or a dairy substitute such as almond or coconut. Don’t buy the single-serve flavored yogurt. It is more expensive and usually loaded with extra sugar!
- Fresh fruit or frozen fruit for sweetness. I like frozen mixed berries.
- My secret sweetening weapon is a couple of spoons of all natural preserves or fruit spread. Extra tip, make sure fruit is the first ingredient listed and not sugar!
- A generous topping of granola. Granola can be purchased or see my homemade recipe Here.
Ready, Set, BREAKFAST!!
The Nourishment!
- Yogurt – High in protein, calcium, and vitamins. Additionally, yogurt contains live cultures loaded with probiotics which improve our gut health. Choose Greek yogurt for an extra punch of protein!
- Fresh or Frozen Fruit – Most fruits such as berries, peaches, and bananas are loaded with vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber.
- Granola – High in fiber, vitamins, polyphenols (gut-health). Most granola is also high in zinc, iron, and magnesium due, in part, to multigrain oats. Check out my homemade apple spiced granola recipe Here.

#1 Best Breakfast Time Saving Steps!
- Place a serving of frozen fruit in a bowl for defrosting in the microwave.
- Second, place the yogurt on top.
- Add in your additional sweetener, if needed. For example, a spoon of all natural preserves, honey, or agave.
- Top with your favorite granola and enjoy!

Dark Berries for antioxidants. Good carbs. I would add protein powder as a diabetic. I try to get 30g protein in the morning.
Thank you for the comment Kris! Yes, you are so right. Protein is so important. Thanks for reading!!
